Teaching your kids about
money shouldn’t be boring.

Financial literacy is important

Teaching children financial literacy is a big responsibility! When you teach your children how to handle their money, you are teaching them how to succeed in life. We recommend that the first step is to discover their Money Personalities. When you know your childs money personalities it makes it easier to not only understand how they view money, but it allows you to teach them with a better approach. We know with three kids of our own, that our parenting goals are similar to yours – no spoiled brats, less of the “gimmies”, no crippling debt, and kids who know a dollar actually takes work. Which is why we are always creating new resources to help with the “how-to’s” of teaching your kids about money without the headache. One of the best gifts you can give to your child is money sense.

Next, invest in a money fundamentals course

There are plenty of courses out there on money fundamentals, BUT we offer our own easy-to-follow course. All you have to do is print the parent and child portion, and follow through the steps of the course.

It is easy to follow, has daily lessons, and applied projects so that they can practice what they are learning. By no means do you have to use our course, but we will say hard work was put into it to equip your kids with fantastic and helpful money skills.

Ready to start making smart financial decisions—together as a family? Even though money can fluster adults, it’s still a good idea to start teaching kids about finance as early as possible.

That’s why The Money Couple is thrilled to introduce Smart Money Habits, a 12-week lesson plan designed to teach your children basic money principles with family-based examples. Even better: the lessons can easily be customized to best fit your family’s needs.

Then, apply the lessons and use resources to help

After your kids learn the basics of money, and have a grasp on their money personalities, or how they view money, you can start implementing GREAT money lessons in everyday life. Have fun exploring everything from giving them a budget for their lunches and snacks, and having them earn allowance, to letting them invest in a stock they like or creating a small business!

You will never regret instilling good money lessons in your children. You will equip them and give them the best opportunity to succeed in their adult life!
